As per the CBSE scheme of studies, each student is required to opt for one compulsory language at the core level along with four electives. The school offers these subjects under three streams; Science, Commerce and Humanities. The language at the core level offered is either English core/ English Elective.

Age Group: 1.5 – 2.5 Years
Duration : 3.5 hours per day
Children start to explore the world around them as soon as they are born. At Shiv Jyoti, the play group curriculum enables children to continue their exploration. Early experiences in the first few years of life are critical for acquisition of skills as maximum development of brain happens during this period. The objective of the program is to train parents to help them foster their child’s development by learning and practicing child development through a scientific approach. This program will foster social, aesthetic and motor skills in young children. This program helps infants and toddlers develop their latent language and Maths skills
NURSERY
Age Group: 2.5 – 3.5 Years
Duration: 3.5 hours per day

At Shiv Jyoti, the nursery curriculum provides a right array of activities to help children move towards achieving their early learning goals. In Nursery, children are engaged in school readiness activities such as reading, writing, counting, number recognition and problem solving in a fun filled but purposeful manner. KINDERGARTEN

• The transition from preschool to primary school is a crucial time of change for both children as well as their parents. At Shiv Jyoti, the Kindergarten (K.G.) curriculum ensures smooth transition to formal schooling with meaningful and progressive learning experiences.
• In addition to age-appropriate activities in Kindergarten, which prepare a child for success in formal school; various other activities are conducted in the areas of language, numbers, general knowledge, music, art in a planned manner throughout the program.
• Through these activities, children learn the alphabet and letter sounds, numbers and simple math and master early writing skills. Furthermore, each child’s development is measured with Continuous Evaluation throughout the year..
JUNIOR SCHOOL YEARS – CLASSES 1 TO 5
A spirit of enquiry goes hand in hand with the sound acquisition of languages and numeracy skills. Our aim is to offer a broad and balanced curriculum. The subject areas are English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science, General Science and Environmental Studies, Music, Dance, Drama, Art, Technology, Physical Education and Personal, Social and Moral Education. The assessment of student work is continuous and broad in its scope. Students are encouraged to reflect on their work and assessments and make efforts for continuous improvement. Our programme is affiliated to CBSE.
MIDDLE SCHOOL YEARS – CLASSES 6 TO 8
The middle school years are a time of significant intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth. We at SJCS want our students to be free, to be able to express themselves in the form of Music, Dance and Theatre. Students exhibit their talent according to their interests. They are given a variety of instruments for their musical taste, open stage and talent shows to showcase their Dancing and Theatrical skills. Expert teachers guide students for their better performances.
STUDENT COUNCIL
The school is divided into 4 Houses and each student is allocated one house. Students are clubbed under four houses – Shiva (Green), Omkara (Pink), Neelkanth (Blue), Rudra (Red). They are divided to inculcate a healthy sense of competition and a spirit of cooperation as well as coordination in them. Inter-house competitions in Quiz, Debate, Recitation, Speech, Creative Writing, Sports etc. capitalise on the staunch loyalty and devotion exhibited by the participants keen to establish the supremacy of their house over the others. Mathematics Club
The zone of Mathemagicians. They learn through games, puzzles and models and explore various number tricks and patterns.
Quiz Club
The Quiz Club members organise various quizzes and audiovisual shows to keep themselves and others updated with latest happenings around and increase the general knowledge.
Drama Club
The members organise activities related to theatre and drama involving action and fun with the social message.
Creative Club
